If you are using Internet Explorer to access Secret Server, you may get a
prompt when trying to copy a password to your clipboard - "Do you want
to allow this webpage to access your Clipboard?". You can simply click
"Allow Access" and Secret Server will copy the value to your clipboard.
If you are tired of getting this prompt from Secret Server and want it to just automatically allow the copy to Clipboard, then follow these steps:
- Go to Tools | Internet Options in Internet Explorer
- Click the "Security" tab
- Choose "Trusted Sites"
- Click the "Sites" button
- Add the URL of your Secret Server (use SSL if you use the "Require server verification - https:" option)
- Click close on the Sites dialog
- Then click "Custom level..." back on the Security tab
- Scroll all the way down to "Scripting" - look for "Allow Programmatic clipboard access"
- Set it to "Enable"
This will now allow Sites in your Trusted Sites to automatically access your clipboard without prompting you. Make sure you only add sites that you trust to your Trusted Sites.
